Los Angeles | Design Concept
Master plan and concept design for a 10,500 square foot preschool and 5,500sf playground in a 1954 community center campus.
The design reconfigures an existing preschool to address infrastructure, environmental, functional and security issues as well as upgrading the classroom environment to encourage learning, exploration and creativity. A new entry sequence organized around a parents’ library connects administrative offices and a relocated multi-purpose room.
Access to the new exploration playground is through the “nature trail” which acts as a natural extension of the classroom environment.
